Be careful on the west coasts. Eleven departments on the Atlantic coast and the English Channel are placed on orange alert for “waves-submersion”, from midnight on Sunday, Météo France announces, in its 6 a.m. bulletin, Saturday February 10. These are the following departments: Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Landes, Gironde, Charente-Maritime, Vendée, Loire-Atlantique, Morbihan, Finistère, Côtes-d’Armor, Ille-et-Vilaine, Manche.
The depression called Karlotta “is circulating this Saturday morning over the south of Ireland and is slowly moving towards the south-west of England”, explains the agency in its bulletin. The organization observed at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, “significant wave heights of 3 meters at Pierres Noires”, in Finistère and “2 meters at Noirmoutier”.
