The year of Taylor Swift
She is a singer-songwriter and businesswoman, her tour Eras is enjoying enormous success, she has recently become a billionaire (according to Bloomberg) and she is all the rage in the world of the NFL when she encourages her new boyfriend Travis Kelce: the name of Taylor Swift has been on everyone’s lips in 2023. So good that the magazine Time named her personality of the year. The chances are therefore high that you will come across “Swifties” at your holiday dinners. How are our children?
It’s been a month since public primary and secondary schools have been closed due to the teachers’ strike in a large part of Quebec, including Montreal. This strike will have an impact on children, particularly those who were already experiencing learning difficulties. In Quebec, approximately one child in four has learning difficulties, and it continues to increase. For what ? Donald Trump in the presidential election?
Rule number one of parties family: avoid controversial subjects, politics, for example. Former US President Donald Trump’s name could, however, surface because 1) he is facing four criminal trials in the United States; 2) he is favored to be the Republican candidate for the presidential election in November 2024; 3) he has just been banned from being on the Republican primary ballot in Colorado, due to his participation in an “insurrection” in January 2021. This latest decision from the Colorado Supreme Court goes directly to the Supreme Court of the United States. Our colleague Yves Boisvert summarizes this latest debate for you.
