The disappearance of a 17-year-old teenager in 2015 has a happy ending. The young man, now 25, was found unresponsive outside a church on Saturday in Houston, Texas, CNN reports.
Rudolph “Rudy” Farias IV had been missing since March 6, 2015. It was a 911 call that led to his discovery.
The American was outside the place of worship. He was unconscious and covered in bruises and cuts, Rudy’s mother told CNN affiliate KTRK. She believes he was brutally assaulted.
“After eight long years, Rudy has been found,” the Texas Center for the Missing wrote on Twitter. Please continue to keep his family in your prayers as Rudy recovers in hospital.
On March 6, 2015, Rudy was walking his two dogs in northwest Houston when he went missing, reports CNN affiliate KHOU. His dogs had come home, but never the teenager.
Also according to what Rudy’s mother told KTRK, her son only emits a few words at a time and settles back into the fetal position. She believes her recovery will take a long time. He remains hospitalized.
But where was Rudy for eight years? It’s not clear, according to CNN. The mystery continues for the moment.
Nearly 360,000 reports of missing children were made to the FBI in 2022, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. However, this figure may include duplicate notices of disappearance.
