In Spain, bosses and unions have signed a unanimous agreement to raise wages. The increase will be 4% in 2023, then 3% in 2024 and 2025. However, there is no retroactivity planned for 2022. It remains at the discretion of employers in a country where inflation has exceeded 8 % this year.

German regions overwhelmed by the reception of refugees

In Germany, who will pay for the reception of refugees? In 2022, the country hosted 1.3 million people, including Ukrainians and Syrians. The regions say they are overwhelmed, notably lacking places in schools. They want the federal government to pay more. If the Greens agree, the other parties in the coalition are reluctant.
