Do you know where your tax money goes? A legitimate question that many ask themselves in the midst of tax reporting. Thus, the government has published concrete figures. Details with journalist David Boéri, present on the set of 19/20, Tuesday April 25.
The government posted very concrete figures online on Tuesday, April 25, concerning the taxpayer’s money on taxes, “in particular the average cost of certain public services, financed by our taxes, and which we use on a daily basis”says journalist David Boéri, present on the set of 19/20. “Example, count 6,800 euros for a school year in primary school”, he describes. The government published these figures because “the taxpayer finds it increasingly difficult to consent to taxes. A recent survey shows that 74% of French people consider that the level of taxation is too high today”continues the journalist.
A new consultation platform
But social contributions are better accepted “simply because they have a direct counterpart, which everyone sees: social assistance”. The Ministry of the Economy has therefore decided to launch a new platform “to show concretely what all of our taxes finance and to offer a consultation in the form of a questionnaire, to enlighten the taxpayer and try to reconcile him with taxes and other levies”concludes David Boéri.
