VAUDREUIL-DORION | A completely confused-looking octogenarian was accused Thursday of having killed his 90-year-old wife the day before, in their apartment in a residence for seniors, in Montérégie.
“I’m having trouble hearing you. Your voice is so strong. I do not understand what you are telling me, ”launched Brian Paul Dennison, who seemed confused during his appearance by videoconference, at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse.

His alleged victim, Annina Di Lauro, was his wife of 46 years.

This is an establishment for autonomous and semi-autonomous seniors, located on boulevard de la Gare, in Vaudreuil-Dorion.
Marks of violence
Still according to our sources, the lady was beaten to death by her husband.
In no way would this be a case of mercy killing, that is to say, committed with the intention and the desire to put an end to a person’s life so that he or she stops suffering, we they say.
Dennison was arrested at the scene shortly after the gruesome discovery.
The latter would have tried to end his life as well.

He bore marks of violence on his body, we learned.
The couple resided in Val-Morin, in the Laurentians, until 2017 and had been married since 1976, according to a mortgage deed consulted Thursday by The newspaper.
According to the Business Register, Dennison owned a freight transportation company from 1997 to 2000.
Thursday, during his appearance, the man sported a trimmed gray mustache.
He had his hair shaved and wore a pale shirt.
From the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police station in Vaudreuil-Dorion, the accused seemed helpless, confused.
Difficult, but able
Moreover, the prosecution opposed his release.
He was also prohibited from communicating with three individuals.
“Well, I don’t understand, but if I have no choice, OK,” Dennison dropped, in English.
The Crown prosecutor pointed to the elder’s difficulty in appearing on camera, due to his advanced age.
“It is certain that he is an 82-year-old man. Talking to the computer didn’t seem easy. »
But the defense has not raised fitness issues at this stage. For the moment, the file is following its course”, specified Me Marie-Ève Côté.
Thursday morning, SQ investigators were still present at the residence to scrutinize the crime scene.
This would be the thirteenth feminicide to occur in Quebec since the beginning of the year.
