(Montreal) An apartment building in Drummondville, a 7-plex, was engulfed in flames on Saturday morning. A man in his 50s was seriously injured and was taken to hospital where he is in critical condition.

The fire had been active in the multiplex on rue Saint-Marcel since around 9 a.m. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) confirmed around 10:45 a.m. that he was under control.
For the moment, there would be no other injuries, said SQ spokeswoman Nancy Fournier.
In the immediate future, we do not know what could have started the fire or if a functional smoke detector was in the accommodation.
