Emmanuel Macron wants the pension reform to be voted on before the end of 2022 to be applied from the summer of 2023. On Monday September 12, the president told journalists: “We have to do it. If we think we need unanimity, we will never do anything“. The unions denounce a provocation. “Reform is not justified today”assures Michel Beaugas, confederal secretary FO in charge of the employment and pensions sector, who indicates that demonstrations and strikes could be envisaged.
Marine Le Pen, president of the RN group in the National Assembly, wants there to be a debate on pensions and that these are not dealt with at the same time as the social security finance bill. This pension reform should have been voted on during Emmanuel Macron’s first five-year term, but, due to the pandemic, it was postponed.
