According to information from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), a vehicle was immobilized on Chemin des Pionniers Ouest because it was about to turn. The driver of the motorcycle, a septuagenarian, was driving behind the car and allegedly hit him suddenly.
The motorcyclist was ejected from his machine and found himself trapped under another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, said SQ spokesperson Béatrice Dorsainville. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It’s unclear how many people were in the car, but no other injuries were reported.
An SQ police officer specializing in collisions went to the scene to analyze the scene.
Chemin des Pionniers Ouest is closed to traffic and a bypass has been erected.
