Three men were arrested and taken into police custody Tuesday, November 16 in connection with a murder case, Franceinfo learned from a source close to the case, confirming information from the magazine Point.

The sulphurous businessman Arnaud Mimran, sentenced in 2016 to eight years in prison for a vast carbon tax scam, and to 13 years of imprisonment last June for his involvement in the kidnapping of a Swiss financier, was extracted from his cell to also be heard in police custody. These hearings come as the documentary Kings of the Scam is currently broadcast on the Netflix platform.

These four men are currently being heard by the criminal brigade of the Paris judicial police, in the context of the murder case of Albert Taieb, killed in 2014 in the 17th arrondissement of Paris with stab wounds. Albert Taieb was a driver and courier of one of the protagonists of the vast carbon tax VAT fraud. Between summer 2008 and spring 2009, fraudsters managed to steal 283 million euros in VAT by playing on CO2 quotas, before the State realized the deception.
