The Laval Police Service (SPL) reports that Curtis Bartlett, a 27-year-old suspect, was arrested last Wednesday by investigators from the Sex Crimes Squad.

Last May, police information led to believe that the suspect was active in sexual exploitation and drug trafficking in Laval and that he would have maintained control over several girls who prostituted themselves, some of whom were minors.

The police learned that Curtis Bartlett presented himself first as a client to his victims and that under the image of a wealthy and benevolent man, he dangled them a prosperous future. He would have supplied them with a large quantity of narcotics.

The SPL investigation also shows that although he was arrested for drug trafficking last May after a long run, Curtis Bartlett did not respect his release conditions.

The individual is due back in court on Wednesday, facing charges of pimping, trafficking in persons under the age of 18, advertising sexual services, obtaining sexual services and breaching conditions.

The suspect is currently in custody.
