Canadian prospect Xavier Simoneau agreed to a one-year, one-year contract with the Laval Rocket on Monday morning.

Simoneau, 21, was a sixth-round pick for the Canadiens in the 2021 draft. He was selected in his third year of eligibility, after being passed over at 18 and then at 19.
The 5’7″, 178 lb forward spent last season with the Charlottetown Islanders of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), with whom he had 86 points, including 24 goals, in 48 games .
Before joining the Islanders, the Gatineau resident played for the Drummondville Voltigeurs for four seasons, scoring 56 goals and 127 assists in 143 games.
