A colorful and joyful procession with rainbow flags, floats and a slogan that animates this Pride March: “Our bodies, our rights, your faces!”. In Paris tens of thousands of people are gathered, Saturday, June 25, in the procession to meet at Place de la République and attend a concert. The associative collective Inter-LGBT denounces the trivialization of verbal and physical violence. Many share their bad experiences here. Me, I don’t live in Paris but near Le Havre, explains Sandra. In her city, the young girl confesses to hiding her homosexuality.

“I know that if I were to take my girlfriend’s hand in the street, I would feel a little embarrassed because there are always malicious looks.”

“We are afraid of being attacked toocontinues Sandrine. I feel more comfortable in Paris than in my own city.” Violence too often ignored by the public authorities. The associations are asking the government to go beyond simple poster campaigns.

I think that we are still very, very, very many in the West, who did not anticipate this at all and had the impression that these rights were now set in stone.
