Helmet removed from Bowen Byram | NHL fines Zack Kassian

(New York) The NHL fined Edmonton Oilers forward Zack Kassian US$2,500 for unsportsmanlike conduct after he stripped Colorado Avalanche defenseman Bowen Byram’s helmet during the game. No. 2 in the Western Conference Finals Series.

Byram was pushed onto the Oilers bench by forward Josh Archibald during the third period of Thursday night’s game.

Kassian, who was sitting on the bench, leapt towards Byram and took off his protective helmet. He received a minor penalty for obstruction.

The Avalanche won the game 4-0 and lead the series 2-0.

Game 3 is Saturday night in Edmonton.
