Parents of Lila, 10, and Léon, 13, Jamel Debbouze and Melissa Theuriau met in 2006 on the set ofAsterix at the Olympics. Interviewed by Nikos Aliagas in 50 mins insidethe former leader of Jamel Comedy Club had told behind the scenes of their love at first sight: “Exactly the same thing happened to me as my character Numérobis who fell in love with Adriana Karembeu. It was very dazzling. It was not planned (…) At the time, we know that it is special and that something very strong is happening. What ? Can’t put words to it.”
The couple got engaged in 2007 before getting married in 2008 during a sublime ceremony not far from Trappes, where the comedian is from, in the Chevreuse valley (Yvelines). Of different religions, the lovers had organized a first Catholic ceremony in France before flying to Marrakech for the second part of the wedding, celebrated this time by an imam.
