“The memories will remain engraved for life” confides Régis Brouard, 10 years after the epic of the USQ in the French Cup

Ten years ago, on April 28, 2012, US Quevilly, an amateur club from Nationale 3, faced Olympique Lyonnais at the Stade de France for the final of the Coupe de France. Ten years later, the memories remain intact confirms Régis Brouard, the coach at the time.

Ten years ago, US Quevilly faced Lyon in the final of the Coupe de France at the Stade de France. A final lost 1 to 0 against Lyon after an incredible epic. Coached by Régis Brouard, the Yellow and Black had achieved the feat of eliminating Marseille in the quarter-finals (3-2) and Rennes in the semi-finals (2-1). Ten years later, the former coach was the guest of France Bleu Normandie this Thursday.

“Memories will live on forever. admits Régis Brouard. In addition to the emotions that we were able to give people and get ourselves, we lived a human adventure with such a strong closeness between us. Apart from the results, the scenarios, it is the relationships we had with each other that remain. There was total trust between us, we could lean on each other without restraint. Things were clear.”

Ten years after this epic, Régis Brouard admits not having a lot of relationships with the players of that time. “Anyway, they know they can call me anytime if they need anything. Relationships will be lifelong. We don’t have to call each other every day.”
