During the first round of the presidential election, the candidate of the Republicans Valérie Pécresse did not obtain the 5% votes needed to reimburse campaign expenses. She therefore launched a call for donations, Monday, April 11, as explained by the journalist Julien Nenylive from the headquarters of the Republicans.
“It is an additional ordeal for Valérie Pécresse, who is therefore reduced, [lundi 11 avril]to demand money from his supporters to fill the gaping hole left in his campaign budget. A hole estimated at seven million euros: this is the sum that the State would have reimbursed if Valérie Pécresse had obtained at least 5% of the votes”reports journalist Julien Nenylive from the headquarters of the Republicans, Monday, April 11.
“Of these seven million euros, the Republican party is already giving two to help its candidate. There are therefore five left to be found via this call for donations launched [dans la matinée du 11 avril]”continues Julien Neny. The journalist specifies that Valérie Pécresse financed these five million euros herself via a personal loan, as the law authorizes. The call for donations will end on May 15.
