He celebrates joy and love, despite recent trials, such as the death of his mother Françoise Hardy. Thomas Dutronc is releasing a new album entitled “Il n’est jamais trop tard”, an invitation to enjoy the little joys of life. Le 13 Heures met him.

Mischievous and melancholic, Thomas Dutronc celebrates life and small joys in his new album, It’s never too lateIn the eponymous song, he makes little nods to his mother Françoise Hardy, who died in June 2024. “It’s true that every moment counts when you’re in this kind of situation with people at the end of their life. You have to do everything to prevent them from suffering.”he confides.

His album is more introspective and intimate. “In recent years I have had romantic and personal experiences that have obviously nourished me. (…) Just the right amount of sobs for a guitar tune, just the right amount of regrets for the slightest song”continues Thomas Dutronc, citing the song “Il n’y a pas d’amour heureux” which was notably performed by Françoise Hardy. The singer highlights the joy of living. “We have to try, even if we are sad (…) Music should be reimbursed by Social Security”he concluded.
