After the trial of the attacks of November 13 last year, place to that of the attack of Nice, perpetrated on July 14 on the promenade des Anglais. If the driver died on the spot, shot by the police, eight people are tried for their link with this attack.
86 dead, more than 300 injured and scenes of chaos. Less than a year after November 13, 2015, France once again fell into horror, on July 14, 2016 in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). A date and images that the victims, still present, cannot forget. Hager Ben Aouiffi, filed a civil action, with her 4-year-old daughter, they are miraculously passed between the wheels of the truck. “The image I have is my daughter’s look when she tells me mom there’s a truck, I see her terrified look and the feeling of helplessness I have, to see my daughter die under my eyes, crushed under the wheels of a truck”she testifies.
In all, more than 800 people have filed a civil action, this is the case of the Borla family, bereaved by the loss of Laura, 13 years old. “We fight for people who left unfortunately and who shouldn’t have left, it’s our fight, our way of defending ourselves for them”, says his sister, determined. Marc Falip, he was not physically injured or bereaved, a volunteer firefighter, he transported dying people to hospital and cannot forget the images of his vehicle slaloming between inert bodies. “It’s images that won’t go away anymore, it’s like a scar.” A trial awaited for six years by the victims. It will open on Monday September 5 and is scheduled to run until December 16.
