The magazine “1:15 p.m. on Sundays” (Facebook, Twitter, #1:15 p.m.) looks back on one of the most mysterious and controversial French criminal cases. Interviews with key witnesses, experts who recently worked on the revision of the investigation, members of the victim’s family, or even with those who conducted a counter-investigation.
Thirty years of fighting for innocence led by Omar Raddad and his lawyers. Thirty years for the “making of an innocent” in the eyes of those close to Ghislaine Marchal. Thirty years of doubts, twists and false leads. Thirty years of expert battles in writing or genetics. Thirty years that have resulted in a decision: justice refuses a second trial to Omar Raddad.
A legal and media battle between two camps
This series traces the Moroccan childhood of Omar Raddad and his arrival in France, as well as the shaping of his relationship with Ghislaine Marchal: their meeting, which will lead to his hiring as a gardener, their relationships or their rare misunderstandings.
In 1991, Ghislaine Marchal was found dead in the boiler room of her villa. On the doors of the room are two inscriptions: “Omar killed me” and “The investigation begins. The gardener is then arrested and appears as the main suspect in this case. A legal and media battle begins between Omar Raddad’s lawyers and those of the victim’s family.
