you’ll never guess what they have in common!

The first was married for several years to Angelina Jolie. He is known around the world and has played in the biggest films alongside the biggest actors such as Georges Clooney, Morgan Freeman, or Leonardo Di Caprio. The second is not to be outdone and is one of the greatest players in French cinema. He has appeared in the most famous comedies but also knows how to play more tragic roles. These two actors are none other than Brad Pitt and Thierry Lhermitte and have a common point that many ignore. But what is it all about? Did they shoot in the same movie? Do they have a friend in common? Nothing of the sort. Their similarity is actually at the mental level. Both are affected by the same disease as our colleagues from Femmes Actuelle know: Prosopagnosia.

Professor Olivier Martinaud, neurologist in charge of the resource and research memory center (CMRR) in Caen, told our colleagues what this disease can cause, which would cause a “lack of identification of faces”. “There are several levels of deficit starting from a difficulty in recognizing faces up to sometimes a complete impossibility. Some may not recognize members of their family or even their own face”. Brad Pitt and Thierry Lhermitte suffer from this neuro-visual disorder. The first evoking this problem in 2013 in the magazine Esquire : “It’s a mystery to me. I can’t hold back a face. So many people hate me because they think I disrespect them.”
It remains to be seen how this disorder came about. Since our colleagues let it be known that there were two ways to be a victim. “That which can occur following a trauma (car accident, cerebrovascular accident, brain tumor …). And developmental prosopagnosia – also called congenital – which concerns patients born with the syndrome and who have known a problem of brain maturation “, informed Femme Actuelle. There are neuro cognitive exercises for “alleviate” this disorder, but unfortunately it cannot go away.
