(Philadelphia) Due to rain in Philadelphia, Game 3 of the World Series between the Phillies and the Houston Astros, scheduled for Monday, will instead be played on Tuesday.

The fourth and fifth matches are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, also at Citizens Bank Park. So far, the match is tied 1-1.

Starting pitchers were scheduled to be Lance McCullers for the Astros and Noah Syndergaard for the Phillies on Monday. McCullers is expected to start Tuesday’s matchup. This is not certain in the case of Syndergaard.

The Phillies won the World Series in 1980 and 2008.

Grand champions in 2017, the Astros are in the final stage for the fourth time in six years, the second time in a row with Dusty Baker as manager. Atlanta won in six games last year.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson took over when Joe Girardi was fired on June 3. He’s looking to join Bob Lemon (Yankees, 1978) and Jack McKeon (Marlins, 2003) as the only managers hired in the middle of a season to go on to triumph in the World Series. Thomson is the first Canadian to lead a team in this prestigious showcase.
