(Ottawa) There will be a new champion at this year’s World Men’s Curling Championship. Canadian Brad Gushue has a chance to reach the top step of the podium.
Gushue outscored four-time champion Niklas Edin of Sweden 9-1 before defeating Yannick Schwaller of Switzerland 7-5 in the semifinals on Saturday.
Gushue will play the winner between Scotland and Italy.
Switzerland had earned a bye to the semi-finals after dominating the group stage with a record of 13 players. Canada was ranked fourth with a 9-3 record.
The bronze medal match is scheduled for Sunday morning, while the gold medal match is scheduled for the afternoon.
