World Cup in Qatar: a world star refuses to sing despite an indecent cachet

In just a few days, the best players in the world will meet in Qatar to participate in the planetary event of this end of the year 2022, the World Cup. On November 20, the host country will receive Ecuador and thus launch a competition awaited by millions of people around the world. An unusual date for the competition, which tends to take place between June and July, but for a country like Qatar, it is better to play in winter for the health of the players.

The French team will soon take off for the Middle Eastern country and it is hoped that the Blues will succeed in bringing the cup home once again. But if the stars of football will indeed be present in Qatar, the country of the Arabian Peninsula is still struggling to attract world-renowned artists to provide the show on site. Some time ago, it was the new queen of pop Dua Lipa who addressed a dismissal to the country holding Paris Saint-Germain. “I’m not going to do it and I’ve never been in negotiations for it”said the beautiful brunette on Instagram, before concluding: “I look forward to visiting Qatar when they fulfill all the human rights promises they made when they won the right to host the World Cup.”

Two major refusals for Qatar

And Dua Lipa is not the only one to have refused Qatar’s money for this World Cup, as another British celebrity has just revealed to have said no. True icon of rock and author of huge hits like Sailing Where Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?, the British singer Rod Stewart will not go to Qatar this year and yet the offer was tempting. “I was offered a lot of money, over a million dollars, to play it 15 months ago” he clarified to Times in an interview.

Known to be a football fan, Rod Stewart was however the ideal star for the event, but according to him this “wasn’t the right thing to do” than to go there. A new refusal therefore for the host country, which had to turn to other celebrities to ensure the show during the competition.
