The news is indeed not very encouraging with the repeated waves of COVID, the war in Ukraine, inflation, the climate crisis, real estate prices, fears of a recession, etc.
For this new school year, all this encourages us to be even more relevant and useful in your lives, to contribute to your understanding of these various crises and their repercussions, to help you regain control in your lives.
The watchword for this back-to-school period: support you with diversified and useful information, ideas, tactics and solutions to current problems.
The first thing you will notice in the different platforms of The Press is the emphasis on purchasing power. We have expanded the team of reporters who cover business news, personal finance, real estate, grocery shopping, and more.
We want to help you better understand these difficult times and better navigate them, thanks to analyses, reports, files and guides that will challenge you.

The positive angle will offer a selection of the most inspiring content from The Press. And It’s holiday will focus on recommendations for weekend outings.
Our journalists will also bring back in their luggage solutions to today’s major issues found elsewhere in the world, by visiting cities and countries that have solved some of today’s major problems.
In an uncertain world, it is also very important to be able to make up your own mind on the main current issues, on the real-time evolution of society and the rapid changes in our bearings and habits.
Hence the need to reflect the major currents of thought, the original ideas and the debates that occupy the public square, which we will do with even more diversity this year.
Like Régis Labeaume, the former mayor of Gatineau Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin has been bringing a sensitivity to the regions and municipal issues for the past few days, in addition to being interested in national and identity issues.
