Women’s Soccer World Cup | Brazil prepares its candidacy for 2027

(Sao Paulo) Brazil is preparing a bid to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup, the South American nation’s sports ministry said on Tuesday.

The ministry added on Twitter that the country’s bid was put together “by the government and sports federations”, including the Brazilian Football Federation.

The mayors of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo have expressed interest in hosting the tournament final if Brazil secures its hosting.

Brazil hosted the men’s tournaments in 1950 and 2014. The women’s edition in 2023 will be played in Australia and New Zealand. FIFA are due to announce their 2027 pick next year.
