Israel’s participation in the Eurovision contest on Saturday May 11 is the subject of debate, as the offensive on the Gaza Strip intensifies. Numerous demonstrations of support for Palestine should punctuate the evening, including on stage.

Right in front of the performance hall, where the Eurovision final will take place, Saturday May 11, thousands of demonstrators called for a boycott. At the same time, a few streets away, other demonstrators brandished Israeli flags.
Reinforcements from other countries
Conflict also enters the stage, which is supposed to be apolitical. Last Tuesday, the Swedish candidate wore a keffiyeh, symbol of Palestine, on his wrist. He was called to order. It was therefore in secret that other candidates took a position for Palestine during a press conference. Further protests are planned on the day of the final. Police reinforcements, specially from Norway and Denmark, will supervise the event.
