With her melancholy and sensual pop, the singer from Royan, Jae, offers a sunny parenthesis to the FrancOff de La Rochelle

The young musician from the Royan region will perform this Wednesday, July 12, 2023 on the stage of l’Endroit as part of the Off des Francofolies festival in La Rochelle.

For eight years, the FrancOff have hosted, alongside the official programming of the famous Francofolies festival in La Rochelle (July 12-16, 2023), a section dedicated to emerging artists.

This is the case of the singer Jae who will play this Wednesday, July 12 at 8:45 p.m. on the stage of l’Endroit. A few hours before her concert, she prepares to meet the public and refines her performance.

“I was very pleasantly surprised, I didn’t think I would be contacted for the FrancOff, it was with great pleasure that I said yes”, she rejoices.

An inspiration between the Atlantic and Thailand

Aged 28, Jae already has fifteen years of experience in the music industry. More than 450 concerts to her credit in the Royan region, she has just released Siam, a first EP of five titles produced entirely solo. The culmination of unfailing rigor and motivation that she explored far from her cocoon. “Going to England for a school of song writing was really decisive in my way of seeing music as work and not waiting for inspiration to strike me every morning”, she confides.

Born of a French father and a Thai mother, Jae, an onomatopoeia sung by Thai women to rock their babies, grew up between France and Thailand, one foot in the Atlantic Ocean and the other in the Andaman Sea. . She now lives in Paris, but regularly returns to Charente-Maritime, where she grew up. Roots that nourish his lyrics and make his parents proud. “What happens to her, it does not fall from the sky, she works and in addition she has talent”, assures his father Rudolph.

In his French pop songs, Jae shares his moods with his soft and luminous voice on light melodies.

On the program for this new edition of FrancOff, which takes place from July 12 to 16, 2023, around forty free concerts in bars and other cultural venues in the city.
