The soap opera lasted throughout the summer holidays… Almost every day a new name circulates and is rejected by one camp or another. The appointment of a new prime minister is awaited. Why is it so complex and how to get out of the impasse?…. Explanations
Choosing a political or more technical profile, such is Emmanuel Macron’s dilemma in appointing a new Prime Minister. If the Head of State turns to the political choice, there would be two men in view: Xavier Bertrand (LR) and Bernard Cazeneuve (PS), both of whom have ministerial political responsibilities. Since Monday, September 2, the President of the Republic has been sounding out all parliamentary groups to test these two names. In addition, the future Prime Minister will have to be unifying and compatible with the President’s economic policy.
But the nomination of this type of profile is risky for Emmanuel Macron. The RN, for example, has made it known that it would censure a government led by Xavier Bertrand. The same goes for a large part of the left with a Cazeneuve government. The other option considered is that of a more technical profile. But the presidential camp seems to be opposed to it. In any case, the answer will be, perhaps for this week.
