Saturday, May 7, at 21 hours, FC Nantes and OGC Nice face off in the final of the French Football Cup. After more than 20 years without a win, the supporters are confident.
The eaglets of Nice face the canaries of Nantes (Loire-Atlantique), Saturday, May 7, in the final of the Coupe de France football. In front of the Stade de France, the supporters challenge each other in a fraternal song contest. The two teams have not won the Coupe de France for more than 20 years, in 2000 for Nantes and in 1997 for Nice. This year, while PSG is not in the final, each team dreams of a title. “We’re going to eat canaries”says a Nice supporter.
FC Nantes is supported by the whole city, dressed in green and yellow for the occasion. The youngest, who have not known the glorious past of the club, are also hopeful. “I feel that Nantes will win, I support FC Nantes too, it’s normal”, assumes a young. In Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), Place Masséna is red and black, while the match will be broadcast on the big screen. “I hope we’ll get out of it, even on the penalty spot, it doesn’t matter”assures a Nice.
