Friday April 15, three years after the fire of Notre-Dame de Paris, the 19/20 presents a virtual exhibition which allows visitors to discover the history of the cathedral, while waiting for its reopening in 2024.
Next to Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral, at the Bernardine college, visitors brandish tablets in the air. On these, the history of the Ile de la Cité through nine centuries. The history of the cathedral is presented: from the foundations in the 12th century to the construction of the choir, up to the coronation of Napoleon. The scenes are represented on the tablets. “You can see corners that you wouldn’t see in real life if you were at the cathedral”notes a young person.
“We really immerse ourselves in the world, we are in the Middle Ages, we are caught up”, adds a woman. The virtual exhibition allows you to discover a 360° scene, but also to travel in time. For Bruno de sa Moreira, co-founder of History, the discovery of the construction in the Middle Ages can help visitors understand the work currently carried out on the cathedral. This interactive visit provides a virtual overview, before the reopening of Notre-Dame in 2024.
