While the first Ukrainian refugees arrive in France, many initiatives continue to be taken in the municipalities to help them. You will find below some of the solidarity operations communicated by the municipalities of Savoie and Haute-Savoie.
For all the collections, here are the donations sought: camp beds, sleeping bags, blankets, electrical equipment (extension leads, projectors), hygiene products (razors, toothpaste, shower gels, etc.), products and clothing for baby, emergency equipment (gowns, bandages, defibrillators), non-perishable food products (cans, pasta, rice)…
Annemasse (Haute-Savoie)
Pick up at the Martin Luther King Complex from Friday March 4 to Sunday March 6 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. A truck chartered by the city will transport the collection to Sieradz, a Polish city twinned with Annemasse for 22 years.
Marthod (Savoy)
Collection at Marthod town hall on Sunday March 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., in conjunction with the festival committee. You can also drop off your donations during the opening hours of the town hall in the coming weeks.
Annecy (Haute-Savoie)
- Online form: for all those wishing to help, the city of Annecy has set up an online form. Objective: to centralize actions to better organize them. You can offer your help in the following areas: translation, access to employment, accommodation offer… An exceptional municipal subsidy of 5,000 euros must be voted for the benefit of the Red Cross.
- Humanitarian convoy: the Annecy association Yambi is also organizing a big collection from February 28 to March 4 at different points in the department (Grand Annecy, La Clusaz, Chamonix, Seyssel, Epagny, Les Villards-sur-Thônes, Chamonix). Aix-les-Bains (Savoy)
Two collection points have been set up by the municipality to receive donations from Monday to Friday: at the town hall place Maurice Mollard from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Chambery (Savoie)
The city of Chambéry is joining the initiative by launching a collection of materials from Saturday March 5 to Saturday March 12. You can drop off your donations at the Maison des Associations, 67 rue Saint François de Sales in Chambéry, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. An exceptional subsidy of 10,000 euros must be voted at the next municipal council.
Rumilly (Haute-Savoie)
A collection of basic necessities was organized on Thursday March 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 5, rue des Glières. It is the civil protection of Haute-Savoie which is responsible for collecting the products in different municipalities at the departmental level and sending them to Ukraine and neighboring countries.
Evian-les-Bains (Haute-Savoie)
A collection point is set up at the town hall (entrance rue Source de Clermont) from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. As in several municipalities, the town hall was decked out in the yellow and blue colors of Ukraine.
Thonon-les-Bains (Haute-Savoie)
In connection with the Municipal Sports Office, a solidarity collection of essential products has been set up at the Lémaniaz room near the Maison des Sports from Thursday March 3 every day (except Sunday) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to March 12, 2022.
Reception of refugees
Beyond the collections, several municipalities in Savoie and Haute-Savoie have already joined the call of the Association of Mayors of France (AMF) to welcome refugees in accommodation centers, such as the municipalities of: Moûtiers (Savoie), Rumilly (Haute-Savoie), Saint-Colomban-des-Villards (Savoie), Chamonix (Haute-Savoie)…
