For two years, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, many have had to give up their trip to Algeria. Faced with the explosion in demand for the summer season, buying a ticket for a ferry has become a real obstacle course.
As summer approaches, many people want to buy a ticket to take a ferry from France to Algeria. But after two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, during which many had given up on their trip, it is now the assault. In Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), in front of the premises of the company Algérie Ferries, many customers are losing patience. Because to get a ticket, you literally have to wait for hours, even days.
“All sites are full”, testifies a customer. An unmanageable situation that almost turned into a riot. On Wednesday, May 25, the police intervened squarely on the spot. For its part, the company has promised to commission an additional ship, hoping to meet the massive demand from Algerians in France. According to the company, there are 200,000 connections per second on its website.
