The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will roll out its red carpet today, which will remain in place until September 15. This edition marks the return of international stars to the Canadian metropolis, after their relative absence in 2023 caused by the strikes in Hollywood.
For journalists, however, the question of access to said stars, big and small, is a real concern this year, wrote our film critic François Lévesque yesterday, while this festival, usually known for offering the media privileged access to renowned filmmakers and performers, is this time transmitting interview confirmations in dribs and drabs.
