Chadians are called to the polls this Monday to elect their next president. For 33 years, the country has been run by the same family, the Débys. Mahamat Idriss Déby, proclaimed transitional president by the army in 2021 following the death of his father, killed by rebels, intends to continue the tradition. But his current prime minister, Succès Masra, considered his main rival, could put an end to the “Déby dynasty”.
