This July 5 is a day full of memories in Lac-Mégantic and throughout Quebec. The municipality of Estrie will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the tragedy that killed 47 people, caused by the derailment of a train filled with oil in its downtown area.
A silent march in memory of the disappeared will run through the streets of the city on the night of July 5 to 6, more precisely at 1:15 a.m., the time at which the train hit around forty buildings in 2013. For the occasion, the he church of Sainte-Agnès opens its doors today for 24 hours and at 7:30 p.m. will host a baroque chamber music concert presented by the musical ensemble Le Petit Rien.
