This Thursday, July 18, the Emmaüs community is in shock. Abbé Pierre, an icon in the fight against poverty, is accused of sexual assault on at least seven women. The acts reported were committed between the end of the 1970s and 2005. One of the victims “was a minor at the time of the first acts,” announce Emmaüs and the Abbé-Pierre Foundation.

At 3pm, the 577 deputies will choose the president of the National Assembly. An election that will be a first test for the new political balance. Emmanuel Macron intends to use it as inspiration to determine the political colour of the future government.

And then, the series “Shogun,” which tells the story of an English sailor stranded on the coast of Japan in the 17th century, was nominated 25 times for the Emmy Awards on Wednesday. The “Oscars of television” ceremony will be held on September 15 in Los Angeles.
