It was extremely hot in Mecca with over 51 degrees recorded. In France, it’s autumn weather, but for how long? Summer is often a harsh time for drought and fires.
We talk about it with CM1-CM2 students from the Rouanet school in Paris. They ask their questions to Laurent Velasco, head of department of the Forest Defense Agency Against Fires of the ONF (National Forestry Office).
On the microphone, Saïd first wants to know what a drought is.
“Where is there the most drought in France?” asks Kheron.
The children also want to know how many fires there have been in France this year and whether there are also some in winter, and more or less than in summer.
“After the fire, did you replant any plants?” continues Moussoucoura.
