On Saturday, July 13, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was the victim of an attack. The man who shot him in the ear was less than 200 meters away.
Donald Trump, shot in the ear, was immediately evacuated surrounded by six men and women in black on Saturday, July 13. They are members of the Secret Service, the federal agency responsible for the security of political figures in the United States. On Sunday, July 14, they are under fire from critics. How could they let a man armed with a rifle shoot a presidential candidate? However, two Secret Service snipers were present nearby. They are the ones who shot the shooter, who was lying inert on a roof.
Witnesses said they saw the shooter ahead of time and tried, unsuccessfully, to alert the police. Why didn’t the police act? Was the scene sufficiently secure? It appears that the shooter had positioned himself outside the security perimeter established for the event. The FBI said the Secret Service will have to answer for it. The director will be questioned by a House of Representatives committee on July 22.
