“we have to finish in style” says Chloé Valentini, the winger of Metz and ex of Besançon

France Bleu: has the adrenaline subsided a bit, Chloe? Wasn’t it too hard to prepare for this French Cup final?

Chloe Valentini: no! It was even quite easy. We returned from Budapest on Monday. Tuesday, rest, and Wednesday, return to training. We have one week left and one last game to win.

France Bleu: it’s not a neutral game for you. It’s a final and you’re playing for a title, at Bercy, against Besançon. Is it as strong as a Women’s League final or a personal Champions League final four?

Chloé Valentini: I’m not putting too much pressure on telling myself that it’s Besançon opposite. I approach this as a final. Of course, I think of my old club but in no case will I let anything pass. And in any case, we will do everything to bring the Cup back to Metz.

France Bleu: I imagine that we have been talking to you about this final for a long time, as we were supposed to talk to you about the “final four” of the Champions League. How do you manage to put yourself in your bubble?

Chloé Valentini: I’m the type who doesn’t project myself too much. I don’t have a standard protocol for putting myself in my bubble but I think that as you go along, with experience, you always learn from matches and the importance of staying focused and connected, of not thinking see you later.

I passed a milestone in Metz

Chloé Valentini: of course, my sister and my niece will come from Morteau (her hometown, editor’s note) to see me play. Sometimes, (his relatives) add a layer but I prefer to stay focused on what I have to do, on what we have to do and the objectives to achieve to end this season in style.

France Bleu: how has this first season in Metz helped you approach these meetings?

Chloé Valentini: in Besançon, in ten years, I learned a lot but I passed a milestone in Metz. Physically, it’s fine. I’m even a little surprised because I went on for two full seasons, without stopping, since there were the Olympic Games. I touch wood. there is fatigue but it’s the last game, the last with this team to get the most beautiful medals. We’ve been working like crazy since August for this.
