That’s it ! Spring break has finally arrived for the majority of Quebec students. In the greater Montreal region, there is an abundance of cultural activities to brighten up this holiday. Here are six outing suggestions.




Storytelling, crafts and other discoveries at Place des Arts

A tale set in a large forest where anything can happen. Circus workshops to learn high wire, juggling or acrobatics. Making an origami bird. Preparing bags of biscuits with La Tablée des chefs for a good cause. From March 6 to 9, Place des Arts offers programming for all tastes. To be discovered for free in the Georges-Émile-Lapalme cultural space.

Disney heroes on skates

They are back once again, to the great joy of the children. During spring break, the heroes of the Disney universe will offer amazing performances on skates. At Place Bell, in Laval, from February 28 to March 3, the characters of Snow QueenofEncantoofAladdin and Pixar will be featured, while at the Videotron Center, in Quebec, from 1er on March 4, we will find those of the films Coco, Moana And Rapunzel. Two different shows, but just as many stars in the children’s eyes. A stop is also planned in Ottawa, from March 7 to 10.

Gardening, cooking and cinema at the market

Young people are invited to cook at the Jean-Talon market.

We won’t have time to get bored during the spring break at the Jean-Talon market. Every day, a new free activity is offered to entertain families: creation of plant mosaics, gardening or cooking workshops, cinema, board games… The program is rich and entertaining. Since places are limited for certain activities, parents are invited to register their child on the Jean-Talon market page.

Youth art in all its forms

The meeting place for tannants, in Vieux-Terrebonne

Until March 5, mischievous young people are invited to discover art in different forms in Vieux-Terrebonne as part of the Rendez-vous des tannant(e)s. Magic and circus shows, indigenous stories and songs, plays as well as some interactive installations are part of the programming of this cultural festival designed for 5 to 12 year olds.

At TOHU, during spring break, there is much more than shows. From March 4 to 8, young people can make puppets, practice yoga and learn dance through various workshops. From Wednesday to Friday, juggling and acrobatics are also on the menu. Outside, many activities are also offered, including the loan of kites that can be flown at Frédéric-Back Park. Please note that the spring break programming at TOHU is completely free.

Once again this year, the Casteliers International Festival, which will be held in Montreal from March 6 to 10, gives pride of place to works for children. In total, five shows are intended for a youth audience, including Memories of a volcano, from the Quebec company Ubus Théâtre. Plays from France, Finland, South Korea and the Yukon are also part of the programming for the youngest.
