“We cannot be 100% satisfied with these announcements”reacts Wednesday April 24 at the microphone of France Bleu Saint-Étienne Loire, Sylvie Fayolle, interim president of Saint-Etienne Métropole, while the distributor plans to reduce its workforce from 1,293 to 3,267. In the morning, the new management de Casino has unveiled its “reorganization project”, also ensuring that 1,010 jobs will be retained at the Saint-Etienne headquarters.

Sylvie Fayolle prefers to see the glass half full. Although she deplores the elimination of around 500 positions in Saint-Étienne, the interim president of Saint-Étienne Métropole considers that it “it must also be understood that jobs will remain at the headquarters”. She therefore believes that this plan can “limit breakage”. “Let’s stay mobilized because there must be as little damage as possible”she adds.
