Bombings and fighting

Number of deaths in Kharkiv, the country’s second city, during an attack on a popular district near the airport. According to local authorities, other bombardments took place during the day, causing violent fires.

Kyiv region strikes back

Ukrainian counterattacks and the withdrawal of Russian forces to resupply allowed Kyiv to regain ground. Ukraine has recovered towns and defensive positions up to 35 km east of the capital, according to the UK Ministry of Defence.

Humanitarian Corridors

Number of inhabitants still in Mariupol, a city in the south of the country which housed more than 400,000 inhabitants before the war. A humanitarian operation to evacuate civilians from this place will also be carried out in the coming days by France, Turkey and Greece, announced French President Emmanuel Macron.

10 millions

Number of Ukrainians who have fled their homes, according to the UN. Of this number, almost 3.7 million went abroad, most of them to Poland.
