On New Year’s Eve, Ukraine was hit by a series of drones launched by Russia. A university and two statues representing figures of Ukrainian nationalism were targeted in Lviv, in the west of the country. In retaliation, kyiv targeted Donetsk, a city occupied by Moscow. Several people died in this exchange of strikes.
