(New York) The New York Stock Exchange opened modestly higher on Thursday as bond yields fell after the announcement of weaker-than-expected inflation in the United States.
Around 9:33 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was flat (+0.01%), while the tech-heavy NASDAQ was up 0.11% after hitting a seventh straight record the day before. The broader S&P 500 index was up 0.03%. In the bond market, 10-year yields fell to 4.18% from 4.28% on Wednesday, after inflation slowed more than expected in June.
