Wall Street opens higher, relieved on Taiwan

The New York Stock Exchange opened higher, relieved after the departure from Taiwan of the speaker of the American House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi.

The Dow Jones index advanced by 0.61%, the Nasdaq by 0.93% and the S&P 500 by 0.66%.

The day before, geopolitical tensions between the United States and China and tougher comments on key rates from members of the Fed had lowered the Dow Jones index by 1.23% to 32,396.17 points. . The Nasdaq fell 0.16% to 12,348.76 points and the S&P 500 fell 0.67% to 4,091.19 points.
