Wall Street opens higher, buoyed by momentum from earlier in the month

(New York) The New York Stock Exchange opened higher on Monday, driven by the momentum from the beginning of the month and a wave of purchases, thus reversing a gloomy weekend.

In early trading, the Dow Jones gained 0.05%, the NASDAQ index gained 0.77% and the broader S&P 500 index gained 0.37%.
