Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday, July 15, that he was in favor of Russia participating in an upcoming peace summit organized by kyiv. “I think that Russian representatives should participate in this second summit”the Ukrainian president said at a press conference in kyiv, hoping that a “plan” for such a meeting to be ready in November.

A first peace summit, bringing together around 90 countries, was held in mid-June in Switzerland, but without Russia and without China. This conference gave birth to “zero” result, Russia had judged. “Any serious discussion has no future without the presence of Russia,” the spokesman for the Russian presidency had launched.

It is “a rather successful diplomatic move by the Ukrainians and the Swiss”estimated on franceinfo Camille Grand, director of the “defense and security” program of the European Council for Foreign Relations. “One way out of the conflict could be a kind of ceasefire on a front line, like what we have on the Korean peninsula, but where there is no recognition of any annexation.”said the man who is also the former deputy secretary general of NATO.
