On Monday April 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Boutcha, a Ukrainian city in which hundreds of civilian bodies were discovered on Saturday April 2.

Saturday, April 2, after the departure of Russian troops from the city of Boutcha (Ukraine), hundreds of corpses of civilians were discovered by the Ukrainian army. “You see, they are civilians”, notes Vladyslav Minchenko, rescuer. Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, went to Boutcha on Monday 4 April. “These crimes will be recognized as genocide (…) we know that thousands of people have been killed and tortured”said the president.

Around kyiv (Ukraine), Russian abuses are said to have taken place in other cities. Only an investigation will be able to prove whether these facts amount to a war crime. Testimonies and autopsies will provide further information. “Depending on the information collected in the area, it will be possible to go back to a hierarchical chain”estimates Éric Emeraux, former head of the Central Office for the fight against crimes against humanity (OCLCH).
