The fire started around 9 p.m. in an apartment on the 2nd floor of this building, at the top of rue Montmailler, in downtown Limoges. It spread to the attic and the roof via the stairs.
The occupants of the apartments in this building were not on site at the time, but residents of the neighboring building had to be evacuated. And two of them have even been relocated by the city.
About forty firefighters from the three rescue centers in Limoges, but also from Ambazac and Pierre Buffière were mobilized. They got to the end of the disaster around 1 a.m.
